Everyday Polishing Hacks

I went back to some of my earlier posts from this year to share some everyday hacks / tips to polish jewelry, cutlery, furniture etc.

Toothpowder / Toothpaste for Silver: Rub a small amount of toothpaste on to your silver and gently rub for 4-5 mins. Rinse with warm water and pat dry. Perfect for silver jewelry, cutlery etc.

Coconut oil for wood: Mix 1/2 cup of warm coconut oil with 1/4 spoon lemon juice and mix. Use a soft polishing cloth to rub the mixture on furniture. Use a buffing cloth after to wipe the slippery residue on the furniture.

Cream of Tartar for Leather: Mix equal ratios of tartar and lemon juice to make a smooth paste. Use with a soft cloth to remove spots and stains from leather… works well on shoes, bags, furniture and even clothes.

Pencil Eraser for Cuticles: Use the eraser at the end of a pencil as a cuticle polisher. Gently push back the cuticle, following the natural shape of your nail bed with the eraser (doesn’t hurt or sting as much as the cuticle shaper).
