Lord of The Rings: Bookmarks Cont’d – Memorable Quotes

This is a continuation of my first LOTR post ‘Character Bookmarks‘ (See Link Here: LOTR Bookmarks). This post focuses on some memorable Tolkien quotes from the series. I’m very proud to say I sold 3 sets of these under handmade gifts on eBay 🙂

  • Brown Cardstock
  • Scissors and pencil
  • Sharpie marker – Fine and Thick
  • Paint pen – Brown (optional)
  • Twine / ribbon
  • Color pencils for detailing
  • Elmer’s glue or Mod Podge
  • A working printer

  • The first was easy. Just cut a strip of cardstock with curved edges and write ‘Courage is found in unlikely places‘ in pencil using a curved font. Write over using the sharpie and add dimension with the paint pen. I added a border and twine to finish it off.
  • For the second, I used a pencil to draw the Doors of Durin and colored over with brown pencil. I wrote ‘Speak Friend and Enter‘ with pencil followed by sharpie and detailed the door with the paint pen.
  • The third was easy. Cut out a banner shape with triangle edges and write ‘not all those who wander are lost‘ and draw a faint circle to represent the ring in brown pencil.
  • The fourth was a rectangular cut out with Galadriel’s words ‘Even the smallest person can change the course of history‘ in sharpie. I added a small silhouette of her next to her name at the bottom.

The final bookmark I made, because I couldn’t resist, was the One Ring and it’s inscription. I dew the ring at the top of the bookmark and wrote out the inscription in English using brown sharpie.
