A sugar rush to last you a lifetime in your very own chocolate factory…. That’s what Candytopia is, with a lot of Instagram worthy pictures.
A sprawling sanctuary of confectionary bliss, tastefully curated by Hollywood Candy Queen Jackie Sorkin, realized by master fabricator Zac Hartog, and brought to life by life-long retailer, John Goodman. This four-month interactive art installation celebrates the vibrant colors and flavors of our favorite sugary delights across over a dozen environments, from flying unicorn pigs to a marshmallow tsunami (Ref: Candytopia Website).
WARNING: LOTS OF GLORIOUS PICTURES AHEAD. Read till the end, the pictures are definitely worth it.
We started our candy tour through an outdoor candy land with a tree house, a statue of Liberty mural and a wonderful dialogue from Mary Poppins.
The first room was a jungle themed one with an extremely realistic lion, a Komodo dragon and some macaroons in random corners.
We walked through the designed doors into a Willy Wonka-esque candy land. There was a huge tree made entirely of candy, with snails and mushrooms made from all kinds of gummy bears, jelly beans and other hard candy.
Next, we entered the under-the-sea room with a shark, sea horse (which was my favorite) and a scuba diver (I think).
And off we go to the fantasy room with dragons and unicorns.
And off to the candy portraits. This was my favorite part of the entire display.
Penny for your thoughts??
Say hello to a life size candy Sphinx…..
And the woman behind Candytopia – Jackie Sorkin
And finally off to the marshmallow pit… made using a quarter million foam marshmallows. End to end, the pit stretches to 8 miles.
And a few more sculptures and signs along the way to the gift shop and exit.
This concludes the candy tour. Hope y’all enjoyed the pictures 🙂
